How do I reserve a treadmill?

How many treadmill desks are there in the Step & Study Space?

There are two treadmill desks in Room 105, each of which can be reserved separately.

How do I use the treadmill desk?

View the , which includes safety guidelines and other information.

What are some tips for using the device safely?

  • Always consult a physician before beginning an exercise program.
  • If you experience chest pains, nausea, dizziness or shortness of breath, stop exercising immediately and consult your physician before continuing. Do not wear clothing or jewelry that might catch on any part of the treadmill.
  • Wear shoes with high traction rubber soles. Do not wear shoes with heels, leather soles, cleats or spikes.
  • Do not walk or run backwards on the treadmill, always face forward.
  • Allow the running belt to fully stop prior to getting off the treadmill.
  • Make sure the area behind the treadmill remains completely clear during use. A minimum of 3 feet (1m) of clearance is required for safety reasons. There should be a minimum of 2 ft. (.6 m) on at least one side of the treadmill.

What are the rules?

  • Please be respectful of your fellow students.
  • No food allowed in the Step & Study room.
  • No loud music.
  • Maximum Room Occupancy: 2.

These treadmills desks are being provided for your personal use. Please familiarize yourself with the instructions on the proper operation of the equipment and the precautions as to its use ().

As with use of any exercise equipment, there are inherent personal health and other risks, hazards, and conditions that may arise in a variety of unforeseen or foreseeable ways, which may include bodily injury, death or property damage.

Logo mark for the New York Times (NYT) is accessible to all current students, faculty, and staff through an Academic license called “NYTimes Pass”. The license includes the New York Times mobile apps, but not the Premium Crosswords or New York Times Crosswords apps.

The access goes as far back as 1851 with full access to articles. However, article access from 1923 to 1980 is limited to five (5) articles per day for each user. Users may consult for unlimited access to articles within the restricted time period.

Once registered, users have limited access for 364 days before being prompted for renewal. If you are a user that previously claimed a NYTimes Pass but it has stopped working, please claim another pass by following the renewal instructions.
